A Bit About Us
Our Story
Wat Buddhapradeep Thai Cultural Center and Temple was founded in the year 2000 for the purposes of Buddhist study, meditation and preserving the Thai Arts and Culture through education and awareness for non-Thai (and the Thai community as well). We provide an enhanced multicultural understanding among different ethnic groups, by providing spiritual guidance and mentoring.

The Ambiance
Wat Buddhapradeep Thai Temple and Cultural Center is a place where both Buddhist and non-Buddhist who have an interest in Thai culture can meet and explore. We offer classes and workshops on subjects such as traditional Thai dancing, meditation and Buddhist study. Many people who attend the events are locals who are non-Buddhist. We offer a place where those who are interested can grow their knowledge and increase their focus on a way of life and living that leads to greater understanding and achievement of cultural diversity.

Events
Each year, the Wat Buddhapradeep Thai Cultural Center and Temple hosts several community oriented events including the most important of these events, the Thai Cultural Day Festival. Thai Cultural Day is the only festival that is dedicated exclusively to the celebration and sharing of the traditional arts of Thailand. The free day-long festival includes craft and headdress displays, Ram Thai (classical and folk dancing), live music on traditional instruments, shadow puppets, Kohn (masked) theater, Muy Thai (martial arts), traditional painting, and fruit carving demonstrations.
Wat Buddhapradeep was established in 2000 to fill a void: to bring a real high quality Buddhism Shop to the San Francisco area. Our passion for excellence is what drove us from the beginning and it still drives us now. In fact, it’s what makes us tick.
Many times, it’s the most ordinary products that make the biggest impact on our daily lives. At Buddhapradeep.org, we believe that by offering the best of the best in even the simplest products, we can make a big difference in the lives of our customers.
